    Bengal Coal Mine Blast Kills Six Workers

    • Six people were killed and three injured in a blast at a coal mine in Birbhumdistrict, West Bengal.
    • The blast occurred at the Gangaramchak and Gangaramchak-Bhadulia coal mine in Khoyrasole block.
    • The mine was allotted to the West Bengal Power Development Corporation Ltd., a state-run power utility.
    • The blast occurred in the dump yard of the captive coal mine.
    • Locals reportedly prevented the police from removing the bodies, but the bodies were collected later.
    • A forensic team will investigate the cause of the blast.
    • The government is providing ₹30 lakh to the kin of the deceased and an additional ₹2 lakh from the State government.
    • Opposition leader Suvendu Adhikari has called for an investigation into the blast and any connection between the incidents.
