• The move aims to break the link between human traffickers and touts.
• In May, a Bangladeshi national living in Chennai was apprehended and found an Aadhaar card.
• BSF is also pushing back illegal migrants in coordination with Border Guards Bangladesh to avoid long legal cases.
• The measures have been in place since March-April 2023, before political changes in India in August.
