    Indian ‘Committee of Enquiry’ Informs U.S. of Indian Government Employee’s Absence

    • The Indian government employee named in the Department of Justice (DoJ) indictment is no longer employed by the Indian government.
    • The individual, identified as ‘CC-1’, was targeted in an alleged plot to assassinate a Sikh separatist in New York.
    • The plot was directed by CC-1, an India-designated terrorist and prominent voice for a separate Sikh homeland ‘Khalistan’.
    • The U.S. is satisfied with India’s cooperation in the investigation, which continues to be an ongoing process.
    • India has chosen an alternative path to cooperate with Canadian authorities investigating Indian government involvement in violence against Khalistani separatists in Canada.
