When and how did the inspiration and idea of joining civil service come in your mind?

After completing AMIE just casually appeared for the Clekrship Exam 2003...passed the preliminary
for the mains somebody suggested that i should take admission in RICE
Less than one month left for the main exams
Got admitted in RICE main branch in 2004
in August probably
& was selected in 2005

What factors did you consider before selecting your optionals? What were they?

The faculty over there suggested that my optional s should be History & Anthro
they provided a comparative statement showing the heighest marks in various optionals
thats it

Being a engineer, u selected non science sub. So it was difficult for u to set ur hand in these subjects?
an engineer.

initially yes
then it was okay for History
i in fact fell in love with the subject
but Anthro was difficult
till i've got selected

How many hours did you study per day? How many months did it take you to complete the core syllabus of Compulsory and optional subjects?

i never ever studied for long hours
I think 6hrs would be more than sufficient
i didnt expect to pass the prelims in 2005
after passing the Prelims started compulsory & optionals

Did u use internet, was it effective?

no
i just used it to check the results
in Mains & interview
net was not so easily available in 2004/5
