WBCSMadeEasy: When and how did the inspiration and idea of joining civil service come in your mind?

Mr. Bittu Bhowmik: I am a students of arts. Stream so I have no chance to be a doctor or engeneer etc. So I prepaired myself for administrative job. To prove myself as many of my friends take science after H.S and sat for joint entrance.

WBCSMadeEasy: Tell something about yourself? Educational Qualification, Marks/Division/Class, schooling…..

Mr. Bittu Bhowmik: I have complete my madhyamik and H.S from Bagula high school, bagula, nadia in 2004 & 2006 with 72% and 69% marks. & I complete my graduation from barrackpore rastraguru surendranath college (under C.U)

WBCSMadeEasy: What factors did you consider before selecting your optionals? What were they?

Mr. Bittu Bhowmik: Two things I consider befor selecting optional paper, whether is it scoring or not & proper study material is available or not in market.
My optional was history & anthropology. I think the syllebus of history is short in compare with geography (which was my hons. Subject)and a number of good books in bengali are available in market and on the other hand anthropology is very scoring subject and I feel very interest to read both of my optional.

WBCSMadeEasy: How did you sustain the study-momentum throughout the year?

Mr. Bittu Bhowmik: I prepared myself throughout the year to keep my eye to success. But I never take any serious pressure on me. But after clear prelms. It was like a mail train from a freight train

WBCSMadeEasy: How many hours did you study per day? How many months did it take you to complete the core syllabus of Compulsory and optional subjects?

Mr. Bittu Bhowmik:There was no fixed time table and subject routine of my study. But I had a target to complete my syllebus within time. And I continued that.

WBCSMadeEasy: Did u use internet, was it effective?

Mr. Bittu Bhowmik: Yes but not frequently. It helped me to prepare C.A

WBCSMadeEasy: Which newspapers & magazines you went through?

Mr. Krishnendu Talukdar:Times of India & Anandabazar.Protiyogita pariprekhit & mahendra

WBCSMadeEasy: Did u took coaching? How was the experience?

Mr. Bittu Bhowmik:I didnt take any coaching. I just followed the syllebus and studied myself. In my point of view group study is far better than to admission in coaching centre. Admission in coaching centre is waste of time & money


WBCSMadeEasy: What about Interview in WBCS? Was the board cordial? What should be a proper preparation?

Mr. Bittu Bhowmik:Oh it was a great experience. Total 4 members were in my board & I noticed that 2 of them were cordial to me & rest were trying to create pressure on me. I think self-belive is main thing behind the success. Its not possible that one will knows everything what they will ask but its importent that how one control the situation when the ball is other court. Manners act of speech dress also play a vital-role.

WBCSMadeEasy: Plz suggest some good books for pre, comp, optional.

Mr. Bittu Bhowmik:Hard work, Persistence & constant effort Is the key to success

WBCSMadeEasy: First I sat for wbcs in 2011 without preparation and did not qualify prelims. In 2012 I have cleared all level of selection. I am from 2012 batch. According to wbcs group- A executive pannel recently published by psc my serial number is 30

Mr. Bittu Bhowmik: I am not conscious about the changed syllebus of main. But I can say who will take for the exam first follow the syllebus carefully select proper book and continue study. Thanks
